Understanding Laboratory Testing & Results

When Results Become Available

Our team will notify you when laboratory results are received. Please note that receiving results does not always mean they have been fully reviewed or interpreted by the doctor yet.

More Than Just Numbers

Laboratory results are only one part of your pet’s overall health picture. Dr. Silvey reviews each result alongside your pet’s history, physical exam findings, medications, and previous diagnostics before making recommendations.

A Thorough Approach

Some results may require additional review, including:

  • Comparison with previous laboratory work
  • Review of medical history and exam findings
  • Consultation with specialists or diagnostic laboratories
  • Additional research when needed

When to Expect Recommendations

For non-urgent findings, please allow up to two weeks for a complete review and personalized recommendations. Many results are reviewed sooner, but this time allows us to provide thoughtful guidance rather than rushed answers. Urgent or life-threatening findings are prioritized, and our team will contact you as soon as possible if immediate care is needed.

Our Commitment

At A Bar S Veterinary Clinic, we believe your pet's care should never be based on laboratory numbers alone. Our goal is to provide accurate, individualized recommendations based on your pet’s complete health picture.

Spay, Neuter & Surgical Guide

Transparent Pricing

At A Bar S Veterinary Clinic, we believe families deserve clear information when planning for their pet’s care. Our routine surgical pricing is provided upfront to help you understand costs and make confident decisions.

Every Pet Is Different

Surgical pricing is based on healthy, routine patients. Final costs may vary depending on your pet’s age, health history, reproductive status, medical needs, or any additional care required before, during, or after surgery. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Before Surgery

All new patients must complete an establishing examination with Dr. Silvey before scheduling surgery. This visit allows us to:

  • Evaluate your pet’s overall health
  • Review medical history
  • Discuss surgical and anesthesia recommendations
  • Answer your questions

After Surgery

Recovery continues after your pet returns home. Owners are responsible for following all discharge instructions, administering medications, restricting activity, monitoring the incision, preventing licking or chewing, and providing recommended parasite prevention.

Post-operative complications, including infection, swelling, seromas, self-trauma, suture reactions, or incision opening, are not included in the original surgery fee. Additional examinations, medications, diagnostics, or procedures required to treat these complications are the responsibility of the owner.

Wellness Opportunities

Whenever possible, we encourage combining your pet’s pre-surgical visit with recommended preventive care. Ask our team how our Canine and Feline Wellness Bundles can help support your pet’s health while saving you money.
